About the Artist:
Kurt Polter was born in 1914 in Kassel, Germany. His parents were the proprietors of the world famous Kassel Hotel. His love of art kept him from entering the family business and he enrolled instead at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris. His mentor was Yves Brayer and he studied with him for eight years. In 1967 he had a one man exhibition at Galerie Juarez in Florida. He is known for his genre, florals and children. The artist had a great following of important people that collected his works, some of whom were: Merle Oberon, Charlton Heston, William Wyler, Esther Williams, Princess Paula de Liege, Peter Ustinov, Prince Moulay Abdoula, Mrs. John Winslow, Contessa B’Miani, among others.
