Painting of historic Russian Borodino Battle with Napoleon on September 7th, 1812. Commander Kutuzov on the mountainside giving instructions to his clerk pointing in the direction of military battles . Behind him are three general.
Signed lower left.
This painting was commissioned by a private collector in 2002. By the artist of Ukraine Natalia Pavlyusenko.
Natalia Pavlusenko comes from an old Ukrainian family, in their native village Hizhintsy street named after her grandfather Andrew Pavlusenko. Both father and mother of Nicholay and Lubov Pavlusenko known Ukrainian muralists.
The plot is taken from the famous Soviet movie ” War and Peace ” 1965-1967 based on the novel by Lev Tolstoy.
The film was made by famous Soviet producer Sergei Bondarchuk 1920-1994.
Achivements:
“Oscar” for best foreign language film in 1969.
The main prize of the Moscow International Film Festival in 1965.
The leader rolled in the USSR in 1966 (58 million viewers).
